Are Bellevue Teachers Striking – BellevueBubble says YES!
Bellevue teachers appear ready to assume picket line positions in protest of the district's web curriculum. Teachers claim the new curriculum limits their flexibility within the classroom as each day, in some instances each minute, is planned for them.

Market Research & Statistics – August 22, 2008
This is a market where watching the value metrics (like price per square foot) can provide insight that you don’t get at first glance. Despite the fact that home prices are rising fairly consistently, the price per square foot of homes listed is declining. Often this can be attributed to new and remodeled homes on the market. Buyers in the area are paying more but also getting more for their money.

Market Research & Statistics – August 15, 2008
This week saw relatively little price change from last week. However, prices continue to demonstrate a nice up trend over the last several weeks. The median single family home price in Bellevue this week is $869,700. The 786 homes have been on the market for an average of 123 days.

Bellevue Teacher Strike
Lindsay Larin, with the Bellevue Reporter, has just written a piece on the current threat of a teacher strike for Bellevue schools. I can't help but feel a little disappointed the school district has no readily available information on its website about the potential strike.

Days on Market Comparison – By Zip Code
Below is a chart comparing the "days on market" (DOM) of single family homes in Bellevue. Medina's zip, 98039, was consistently at the top with longer days on market than it's Bellevue counterparts. You can see the average DOM continuing to lengthen throughout 2008.
