WOODINVILLE CITY NEWS
Construction Updates:
NE 175th Street and 131st Ave NE Intersection Improvements (BNRP SE LEG):
During November, the City expects that the following construction activities will occur near this intersection: continue roadway excavation on 132nd Ave., restore the grounds at the northern portion of Wilmot Gateway Park, and street paving along the project site.
Please Note: The pedestrian signal at 133rd Ave. NE / NE 175th St. is inoperable; the crosswalk has been closed until a new signal is installed.
All work is subject to change, but weekly updates are available on the City’s website, WTV21, the Woodinville radio station (WPKL360, AM1610), and on electronic reader boards posted near the project entry and exit points. Street Resurfacing Project:
Pavement resurfacing projects are underway in the Winchester Hills and Kingsgate areas. The project started in mid-October and will be completed in mid-November, with work scheduled on Monday thru Friday from 7 am to 7 pm. The City and its contractor are diligently working to minimize the impact to traffic in these neighborhoods during this construction. Three days prior to construction, the City’s contractor will be placing No Parking Signs along the roadway. To help avoid delays to the project, and the necessity to tow vehicles, please move vehicles off the roadway. For more information on these closures, contact Project Engineer, Dan Beck, at 425.877.2295.

Winter Snow Removal Schedule:
In the event of a snowstorm, the City has developed a new snow removal route. The schedule outlines a street priority list; however the City’s resources (number of plows and staff) and the weather conditions will determine the ability of the City to clear the streets according to the street priority list. In severe conditions, crews will be required to keep the first priority streets clear and may not be able to clear other streets until the storm subsides. The street priority list was developed to maximize public safety to the community, thus our top priorities are to clear major arterials, routes to schools (if in session) and routes to essential life safety services (Police, Fire, Essential Public Facilities, Hospitals).
Secondly, the City focused on minor arterial streets and any remaining streets leading to commercial services, or schools. The third priority focuses on steep residential hills. Once major arterials, minor arterials, emergency services routes, and routes to commercial services are cleared, the City will begin clearing residential streets. To view a City map of these priorities visit http://www.ci.woodinville.wa.us/Live/MapsView.asp.
