Gas pipeline installation to slow Bellevue traffic

One of the more significant traffic impacts of the summer in Bellevue won't be caused by a transportation project at all. Instead, lanes will be closed on downtown arterials as Puget Sound Energy adds 3.5 miles of new natural gas pipeline beneath city streets and sidewalks.

One of the more significant traffic impacts of the summer in Bellevue won’t be caused by a transportation project at all. Instead, lanes will be closed on downtown arterials as Puget Sound Energy adds 3.5 miles of new natural gas pipeline beneath city streets and sidewalks.

To provide more details about the work and to answer questions, the utility company will hold an open house at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at City Hall, in Room 1E-108. PSE offers more information online about this project.

Work on the Bellevue Braids-Lake Hills Connection pipeline project is expected to begin July 21 and be completed in December 2008.
